May Roses

The peak of the May flush has happened…it was a great rose season here.

Julia Child

Lavaglut - the camera can't capture the red of this rose

Distant Drums - one of my favorites, for beauty of bloom and fragrance

Eden - especially beautiful in the early stage of the bloom

Eden again

Heritage - such a beautiful, fragrant rose, and nearly thornless

Pat Austin - I love this rose to pieces

Molineux

Winchester Cathedral

Gertrude Jekyll - glowing pink, bloomiferous, and a strong, sweet old rose fragrance

Queen Elizabeth - given to me by my elderly neighbor, Elizabeth

Veteran's Honor - no fragrance, but disease resistant and beautifully formed blooms

Easy Does It (I think--not sure.) Glowing colors that I love

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
