Easter

Because participating in three church services in one week is only a good start ;-), we went to church this morning….and it was so wonderful.  What a festive celebration, a great cap to the week.  However….I’m ready for a break!

Easter dinner was delicious:

Roast leg of lamb
Roasted Asparagus and Mushrooms
Caesar Salad
Garlic Rosemary Mashed Potatoes
John’s Sourdough Bread
Lemon Meringue Pie (not stellar…and too rich)

After dinner we opened Easter baskets from Grandma Barbra and played scrabble although we were in a bit of a post-dinner coma.  Middle son won at Scrabble (as he tends to do!) and they headed home to bed.

Observing Lent and participating in the worship services this past week really was valuable for renewing my awareness of Jesus’s life and ministry, death and resurrection.  And going to the church services together with others gave me a sense of having companions on a spiritual journey.  I’m tired from the pace of the last few days, but feeling enriched and renewed.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
