Transcription of half of Rowan Williams’ talk on Gospel of John

I discovered someone else on the web who was impressed with the Archbishop’s talk on the Gospel of John, and that person linked to a transcript of the first part of the talk.

So if you prefer reading or skimming, I commend that to you, although you miss the entire second half of the talk which deals with John’s themes and allusive writing style, the two question and answer sessions (including questions on the origin of Christianity, the meaning of “logos” in Greek, the gospel of John’s influence on the Brothers Karamazov and other literature, thoughts on explaining the concept of the Trinity to Muslims) and, and the Archbishop’s lovely, fluent Greek readings.

So I still recommend the mp3, which is here:

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
