Wednesday night Bible study

Scott and I enrolled in the September-to-May Bible study down at the church a couple months ago.  It’s a Bible survey class.  Following a text titled “Discovering the Bible” you read through numerous selected passages and chapters of the Bible that unfold the overarching story and themes.  There’s about an hour and a half of preparation time for class each week.  I’ve already found it beneficial as a more disciplined look at the Old Testament than I’ve ever undertaken before.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.

It’s been a great class so far. I’m enjoying the Old Testament part of the survey, but I’m really starting to look forward to the New Testament!

You’re a better student than I am–it takes me much longer to do the prep work for the class, and I’m not at all confident I’m doing it justice! I sense I’m on the brink of how to interpret some of the more difficult OT passages with a broader and perhaps deeper understanding, but I’m sure not there yet!
