I am happy to see this day.

Little Rock Nine

Little Rock Nine

A year before I was born, this group of students were blocked by some angry parents and the National Guard from attending Central High School in Little Rock, and federal troops were called upon to protect them as they entered the school the desegregation law said they could attend.

As I grew up, the news rolled on.  Steps forward and shameful steps back.

And so I am very moved to see this day, and I cannot guess what it means to people who lived out the history instead of only seeing it on the nightly news.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.

This is a wonderful post, Kathy! Our generation has had a front row seat to seeing lots of changes, and this one is very heartening!

There are encouraging things about this election. And things that are worrisome. God’s kingdom will prevail no matter what. So in that we can have confidence and rejoice.
