Seeing the world differently

My friend Darlene has been writing on her blog about reading two books, The Irresistable Revolution and Jesus for President.  She mentions how challenging and intimidating the vision set forth in those books is.  Well, she’s a braver soul than I!  I’d heard of the books and their author before, but intriguing though they sounded, I put them out of my mind with the reaction, “I just don’t know if I can handle that level of conviction right now.”

But after reading about Darlene’s encounter with them, I was curious again, so I googled for something by the author that I might listen to this morning while getting the laundry and ironing done.  I found this wonderful interview of the books’ author, Shane Claiborne by NPR interviewer Krista Tippett, for her program “Speaking of Faith”.2007 Shane Claiborne interview

It’s a compelling interview of a person who sees the world differently and therefore responds differently–and that’s exciting.  May his tribe increase!

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
