Out of my comfort zone

Last night I stepped out of my beloved comfort zone and served in a community soup kitchen hosted by our little church.  Two things convinced me to do so — the possibility that Scott might be cooking and serving on his own due to the usual stalwart supporters being out of town — and the remembrance that other times when I have done things like this it has been a good experience, even exhilerating.

Well, there was a full crew of cheerful and able helpers and so our fears were for naught, but I’m glad I went, because it was a good and exhilerating experience, and heart-warming, too.  I gotta remember my comfort zone isn’t the only good place to be.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
