A little guitar inspiration

A group of videos I’ve come across on Youtube that have been particularly enjoyable to dip into are selections from a series called Transatlantic Sessions, which brought together American and British Isles folk musicians and filmed them enjoying music together in intimate home settings.

Here’s an early one–I think the musicians are about 20 years older now than when this was filmed. But it’s lovely. I know the piece well because it’s on Barenberg, Douglas and Meyer’s beautiful album, “Skip, Hop and Wobble“.

You have to go to the link, I can’t embed it. Big Bug Shuffle–Russ Barenburg and Jerry Douglas

Really good.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.

Over Christmas I watched an episode of this on PBS with my mom and stepdad. It was so so so good. I know a very young Jerry Douglas was in it and my stepdad didn’t believe me till the credits :)
