Today I had long talks on the phones with two Karens. One an old, and dearly beloved friend, and the other an enjoyable new client. But I probably haven’t been on the phone for so long since I was a teenager. And that was a long time ago!
Here’s some pretty roses from today:
Pat Austin–fragrance smells like apple juice. Terrible cut flower. So pretty on the bush that I have two of them in my yard.
Mr. Lincoln. A tall, classic hybrid tea rose with a good rose fragrance. This rose is at eye-level for me.
A particularly luscious bloom on The Prince. He is not only tinged with purple, but also has a violet topnote in his fragrance.
Ah, Gertrude Jekyll. This rose has a strong fragrance that is sweeter than most roses. I love the fragrance on almost all my roses, but this one is in a class by itself.
