Apartment Hunting

This is so much fun.  Having our son here as an adult has been a joy beyond words.   Today he invited me to go out apartment hunting with him.   It was a gorgeous day to drive around town with the list of rentals from the Chamber of Commerce and the sunroof open.   After driving by some places he’d circled on the list, we began to zero in on three possibilities, and none of them are apartments.   It was fun to picture him in the various settings — a nice modern duplex on the north side of town, a funky old brick bungalow near the university, and an immaculate post-war cottage.  Tomorrow he’ll decide which one he wants.  He’s eager to finish the process of moving.  I know he feels a bit suspended, still waiting for the gears of life to catch hold again and turn.   We’ll miss having him under our roof, but the joy of having him in town has just begun.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
