Garden Log — March 22

The Daybreaker rose arrived yesterday and I planted it today and then mulched that bed with 5 bags of mulch leftover from last year.  It was not enough–I need about two more bags for that bed.  Scott mowed, and the yard looks great.  The daffodils are so beautiful this year.

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.

Where did you buy your Daybreaker rose? I had one and loved it, but it died in our mid-April freeze here in East Tennessee last year. I’m having trouble finding another.

Jody, I ordered it through S & W Greenhouse. It was back-ordered and didn’t arrive with the rest of my order a few weeks ago. Maybe they have some more now.

Here’s the website: http://sw-greenhouse.com/. I have ordered from them over the internet several times, spoken to them by phone a couple of times and visited the greenhouse a couple of times–they’re good folks.

    Hope that helps!
