Youtubing: Two Approaches to Violin

Here is a lovely performance by one of my very favorite bluegrass bands, The Nashville Bluegrass Band. This is “Gospel Plow”, from their wonderful album, To Be His Child. Mike Compton doesn’t usually sing lead, but here he does. Stuart Duncan plays fiddle with his usual rhythm and tone.

And here is something Oldest Son dug up for us–Jascha Heifetz playing Saint Saens. It’s a scene from a movie, but you get a really good look at his hands and it’s pretty neat.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
