New Music From Alison Krauss — Raising Sand

I’ve been hearing ripples of publicity about an album of duets between Alison Krauss and Robert Plant (of Led Zeppelin fame, Mom <wink>). Someone on another site posted a link to the official album website where you can hear the whole album. At first I was put off by the reverby guitars and pedal steel sound, but then I was drawn in by the beautiful harmony singing. Those instrumental sounds to which I initially reacted with distaste, I’m beginning to reclassify to “haunting” and “plaintive”. Most of these songs are pensive and slow–I had to slow down and accept the pace at which the beauties unfold. I think I might have to buy this.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
