Garden Notebook: March 21

I sprayed the roses for disease. They are all beautifully clean for the moment. It seems like the more established the plants are, the better they resist disease. I still need to fertilize them.

First bud sighting: Francis Dubreuil has a tiny bud! Amazing! The old fashioned bleeding heart plant has jumped up out of the ground overnight, seemingly. I’m seeing the tops of hostas now. I love this time of year!

D16 has a break from school. He’s got two baseball games later this afternoon. Yesterday he pitched, played shortstop and got a fabulous double out past the centerfielder, close to the fence. Looked like a triple but the center fielder scooped it up fast and made a good throw.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
