I was inspired by my friend Darlene’s blog entry about growing younger, to  be more careful about falling into increasing sedentary-ness.  I like being sedentary, and with my arthritis, my body is often telling me to sit down and shut up, but I do need to fight back.

I decided I would start by painting my laundry room.  Day 1, I sanded down the dark wood-paneled walls common to 60’s and 70’s era ranch-style homes.  Day 2 (today) I finished putting the primer coat on.  Day 3, tomorrow, I will begin painting.  I am sore.  But happy about the change.

I am telling myself it’s not about getting the project over and done with in one day.  It’s ok if it takes a little longer.  I had been putting it off because I hadn’t felt up to doing it in a single day. Silly thinking.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
