An Interview of N. T. Wright on Evil, Justice and Christian Living

Issues, Etc radio host Todd Wilkin recently interviewed N. T. Wright, who is a prolific author of both popular bible study guides and devotional books and scholarly books on the rise of Christianity out of first century Judaism. He’s an Oxford historian, and is Bishop of Durham in England. The interview is fascinating, though it’s a challenge to keep up with the gallop of Bishop Wright’s thought and speech.

I have read two or three books by him which gives me a handle by which to hold on for the ride–a familiarity with his emphases and so on. He comes at his topic from a different angle than we meet with among my circle, but it’s equally devout, extremely articulate and thought-provoking and I have found his writing very helpful in connecting my faith to something a little more global and historical.

This 20 minute interview might make as good an introduction as any to N. T. Wright.

And…on an entirely different note…

Here’s a video by two guys who have a website called “Dad”. They’re down in their “Dad Lab Lounge” having a beer and discussing the debate over public breastfeeding. This is guy stuff–breezy and funny. Pretty heartwarming, though, to this mom to see two dads shooting the breeze and taking up the cause of breastfeeding babies and moms.

Even funnier is the same two guys and their 30 second breast-pump challenge. (Find it at the website.) The Dadlabs site has lots of good stuff from a decidedly Dadly point of view.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
