Thanksgiving preparations

Tonight I’m making a couple of things ahead for Thanksgiving: pumpkin pie with a ginger snap cookie crust and the cranberry sauce. The pie is finished and cooling. The crust looks like it might have burned a bit.

Scott spiffed up the yard. D16 straightened up the living room. They are flying high because they both have 5 days off starting now.  Scott’s dad and C25 are coming tomorrow!

This morning J23 experimented with my grater to make sure it would work for grating real nutmeg, which it did, and told about making eggnog for his friends, actually using a wire whisk to beat the egg whites to stiff peaks. Wow. That’s dedication.

About katiekind

Enjoying the second half of life. I have three sons who are the apples of my eye and a wonderful husband of 35 years--those are the important things. Long ago, out of the blue, I became a Christian. It was something I never planned on, but what joy it has been. I do website development and I like to read and garden and paint and I love beauty and truth.
